Heng’s Birthday

Saturday 19th of SeptemberKhun Heng’s birthday celebrations started with a scrumptious lunch at the Fuji Restaurant in Tesco Lotus. After indulging in all sorts of raw and cooked delicacies including the delicious sweets to finish, we all agreed to meet at Choeng Mon Beach, near the White House Hotel where 4 Jet-Ski’s and a Banana Boat were awaiting our arrival.

We went from the deliciously exotic food of the Fuji Restaurant to the relaxation and fun of the beach in Choeng Mon and managed to get the whole company relaxing and having lots of fun. Most of the girls soon forgot their sun-block and umbrellas and jumped onto the jet-ski’s and banana boat, joining in the fun.We welcomed a new member to our family as Paul, one of our sales executives, brought his mum Suzie along, and later she even had a go at the karaoke.Warming up on the beach before jumping onto the jet-ski; the Thais and the English were comparing drinking techniques.Adam and Uri, from our marketing department, were one of the firsts on the jet-ski.Whilst Laurent and Heng took Laurent’s children Mael and Elan out for a super ride. The banana boat was excellent fun, although by the end of it we’d got such a good technique that the boat driver couldn’t over-turn us anymore.Even Jasmine, Khun Heng’s daughter ended up playing in the water with her Dad and favourite uncle Laurent. And as dusk fell, we all prepared for the big birthday party in the White House Hotel.

After the opening ceremony we first sat down and enjoyed all the exquisite food, which was especially delicious after the appetites we’d built up on the beach.

Once the delicious trifle and Thai desserts had been polished off we set about some fun and games again.

P’Pew from accounting and Adam from marketing ended in the final show-down, after Laurent was narrowly saved from falling into the swimming pool behind the stage by the thin stringy banner behind him.

Then the karaoke started with a sweet duet from Khun Heng and his wife Khun Meaw.

Followed by a not so sweet duet from Paul from sales and Adam from marketing.

This was however saved by an, all be it shy, but sweet rendition of a popular Thai song by the girls from accounting and admin.

We then appreciated the grand finale from P’Au, in our maintenance department with a fantastic performance of a Thai rap song.

The evening came to a close with the 6 monthly bonus being given to all staff whilst they thanked Khun Heng for the opportunity to develop their careers within his company.

The evening closed with us all setting off the wonderful Thai lanterns into the midnight sky. Wishing each other all the best success for the future in the company together.

Khun Nasser, one of our first and most loyal clients, joined us with his girlfriend the next day in order to donate two Buddha statues to a new temple under construction in Chaweng.

Khun Heng, with his mother at his side, led us all in a blessing for the future temple and our company’s future growth.

It was a great feeling for all of us to being contributing something to the “other world” that has brought us so much luck up until now and continues to bless us with health and success each day.
